Been a while since I've drawn someone, and all I had was a mechanical pencil and an eraser... but the good news is, the boat didn't sink after she let me draw her. Then again, there wasn't a kabillion dollar gem to be found either. It was time to "get my draw on"!
She actually looks a lot like Fergie, with the piercing and the eyes. I like how you did the lips and eyes, but the nose looks a bit unfinished and the shading could use some improvement. Cool, though!

I agree with your unfinished and shading comments. So then I had to load a pic of Fergie and compare... it's weird, there are similarities but Fergie has a more chiseled face. [link] Thanks for the feedback! -Woof!

Well, you asked me to write something, but the best thing I can say is I'm not good as a critique , not even when I have to talk about my own stuff. REALLY. There are very good tutorials on traditional art here on dA, the best thing is to find some of those things.... Read a bit about shading and how to work on big surfaces, to get general lightning etc. The proportions are pretty good I think, and the accents of black... Try to put bigger surfaces of grey, only at the end get to work on highlights and black details. Try to work on bigger "plans" , get the main general-grey tones first. Excuse my english. And use the mechanical pencil only in the end , for details. Never use (just) HB. Use 2B , 4B, 6B and 8B pencils. They don't scratch the paper, and you can use them to get soft greys up to real black, depends on how "strenght" you use when handle it Thses are general advices much better explained in the tutorials I saw, in a much clearer english .

Thank You! I understand... there are thousands of tutorials, and I have studied both 2D design and life drawing lightly in college long ago - but hearing from someone at DA that I respect is appreciated! And your English is great. You should hear my Romanian! hahaha...no, you shouldn't
